Thanks Go To Many Volunteers and Supporters
Many people poured hundreds of hours of volunteer time into the Yes On Measure E campaign. Our hearty thanks go out to each and every one of them. We also thank the 1,593 voters who believed in the campaign and voted yes.
Sacramento 's perpetual budget crisis still threatens Hermosa's schools. Our community banded together to work for the passage of Measure E. Even though the measure failed to pass the community will continue to search for ways to keep our schools among the best.
We will keep this site up because the information on it remains true. It will also keep up with any new developments that may occur.
Once again, thank you for your support.
Simple Truths Remain True
- There is a big gap between what Hermosan's think is a good public education and what the state will fund.
- Hermosa sends Sacramento about $40M a year for K-12 education, they send us back about $13M for our K-12 kids.
- Hermosa parents raised approximately $880,000 last year to save many important programs in music, science, technology and K-3 class size reduction.
- All Hermosan's benefit from good public schools. It makes everyone's property worth more when families want to move here to take advantage of better schools.
- We are wearing out the volunteers who are working with the PTO and Ed. Foundation to raise enough money to fill the gap.
